SmartPoint

Bankom is proud to introduce “SmartPoint”, its  independent network of ATMs.

We have recently installed 10  SMARTPOINTS in the major urban centres of Uganda namely, Kibuye; Industrial Area-AngeNoir; Kikuubo; Wandegeya; Ntinda; Bombo Road; Entebbe, Mbale and Mbarara.  Combined with the existing partner bank ATMs, customers now enjoy an expanded network of over 30 ATMs. Bankom is working tirelessly to install SMARTPOINT ATMs in as many locations as possible to fulfill its mission to provide efficient, convenient and reliable electronic payment solutions to all its member bank customers.

Through these services Bankom continues to link banks as they map a road to transforming Uganda from a cash-based economy to a virtual cashless/card culture.  Charlotte Kaheru, the Managing Director of Bankom comments, “SMARTPOINT will allow the customers of all our partner banks to access their own primary banking services every where they see the SMARTPOINT sign, making it easier for them to transact from any part of the country. 

Bankom made its way into the Ugandan market in 2003, pioneering the entry of switch banking in Uganda.  This up-to-the-minute facility has enabled banks to share ATMs as opposed to competing to install their own ATMs in the same locations.  Bankom’s mission is to provide efficient, convenient and reliable electronic payment solutions.
